Crossmaglen Ladies All Ireland 7-a-side 2011

Saturday 26th February was a fine day for the second annual 7 a side tournament hosted by Crossmaglen Ladies in association with Crossmaglen and South Armagh Chamber of Commerce and Trade. Photos from the days events can be viewed in the gallery section.

The group stages saw great challenging games between the clubs which had travelled to St. Oliver Plunkett Park.  With the use of the council facilities all four groups played their initial matches simultaneously.

Ladies 7’s Open Invitation

Crossmaglen Ladies GFC would like to extend an open invitation to all ladies to enter our 7s Tournament. The tournament will take place in our home ground, St. Oliver Plunkett Park on Saturday the 26th of February 2011. This tournment is designed as a “Get back to football” event, where teams of all ability (Senior, intermediate and Junior) are encouraged to participate. The tournament is run in a group format and the top two teams will progress from the groups to play for the cup. While the remaining teams will compete for the shield.

Last year was the first year we run this tournament, and after fears of bad weather the competition went ahead and was very sucessful.  We had teams from Dublin, Roscommon, Donegal, Monaghan, Antrim, Down and Antrim competing on the day.  With Armagh’s Clann Eireann and Monaghan’s Emyvale lifting the Cup and Plate respectively.

We hope that we have sparked you interested and if you would like anymore details please do not hestiate to contact me (Marion McNamee) at [email protected]
