Glen 2 Glen

Now that everyone is in recovery mode & getting back to normality, we would like to take this opportunity to reflect on the epic journey that was Glen2Glen 2014!

Who’d have thought that 130 cyclists, most of them beginners, would cycle 100k from Crossmaglen to Glen Maghera?  A mammoth task lay ahead, but full credit must be given to EVERYONE involved in making the event such a HUGE success!

Thanks to Eddie Carville & Sean Cowan who were our event co-ordinators.  To Eddie Hughes, Gerard Rushe, John Hand, Michael McShane, Tony Brady and their band of stewards who ensured everyone had a safe journey – thank you.

To our two cycle support teams – Seamus Connolly (The Cycle Centre) & JMC Cycles – we are extremely grateful for all your help before and during the event.  Without your support a large number of our cyclists would have found themselves stranded enroute (some not too far away from home), so thanks once again.

To the South Armagh Fruit Cakes, Mona McEntee & The Rainbow Club for providing refreshments for our cyclists at Collegeland and on arrival in Maghera.  Thanks to our fellow Gaels in Collegeland and Glen Maghera for their welcome & hospitality.

To each and every one of our jersey sponsors & those who donated to this fantastic event, we sincerely thank you.  Your generosity never ceases to amaze us & we thank you for your continued support.

Our final word of thanks must go to our cyclists, who shed blood, sweat and (almost) tears as they made the epic journey!  We hope you gained an extreme sense of pride in yourself as you crossed the finish line, as we are very proud of your accomplishment!

Well done and thank you to EVERYONE who played ANY part in the success of Glen2Glen 2014!
