U16 Championship Division 1 Final
Cross V Carrickcruppen
The game was only minutes old when Carrickcruppen scored a point and opened the scoring in the U16 Div 1 final which was played in the Athletic Grounds , Armagh .
A superb pass from Oisín Doyle to Eoghan Kerley resulted in the ball finishing in the back of the Cruppen net but seconds later the same happened the opposite end of the field , Carrickcruppen scored a goal which put them into the lead once more .
A Liam Óg Finnegan point levelled matters . Points from both sides, Shane Morgan the scorer for us kept it a very exciting close encounter .
Carrickcruppen got two more points edging them in front but Cross moved up a gear , points from Dara O’Callaghan , Eoghan Kerley , James Teelan(2) and half back Rúairí Kieran put us in a commanding position as half time approached . As the game entered injury time , a Carrickcruppen point meant there was two between the sides at the break.
The second half was only underway when the Cross forwards had the ball , Liam Óg Finnegan putting ball over the bar to stretch the lead to three .
Carrickcruppen got a point before we went on a spree of scoring . Points from James Teelan , Patsy Finnegan (2) , Dara O’Callaghan , Eoghan Kerley and Oisín Doyle .
Carrickcruppen got a point which was to be their last score of the  game .
A blistering defensive and midfield display meant the ball was in plenty of supply for our forwards who all got their name on the scoresheet .
The last quarter saw points from Liam Óg Finnegan , Eoghan Kerley, Dara O’Callaghan and Patsy Finnegan . Eoghan Kerley was the top scorer of the match with a personal tally of 1-04 .
As the final whistle went there were jubilant scenes at the Athletic Grounds as we were crowned U16 Armagh Division 1 Champions
Cross 1-19. Carrickcruppen 1-07
A great all round team performance
Well done to the entire squad , Tim , Alan and all the Management team .
We now proceed to the Paul McGirr tournament in Ulster which will be played in the Autumn .

CROSSMAGLEN SENIOR LADIES FOOTBALL TEAM REACH COUNTY FINAL

Crossmaglen Ladies footballers have reached the Intermediate County Final by overcoming red hot favourites Dromintee in a scintillating semi-final battle in Dorsey. This victory followed their quarter final success against Lower Creggan (Dorsey & Cullyhanna) in mid July.

In wet, slippery conditions both sides gave a spectacle of football in an end to end battle. The match was played with serious intensity and speed, as each and every player showed great commitment and determination.

Although Crossmaglen went in at half time two points down, two second half goals took the Rangers team into the lead. Throughout the second half the Dromintee forward line were a constant threat, but the excellent marking of county player Aoife McCoy by Crossmaglen player Orlaith Murtagh, and the tenacity of the entire defence ensured that victory went to the Rangers Ladies.

The last few minutes of the match had the Crossmaglen crowd nervously waiting as the team worked tirelessly to hold onto their three point lead, and the joy from players and management at the final whistle showed what this victory meant.

Squad: Aislinn Mc Mahon, Alex Clarke, Aoibheann Mc Conville, Aoife Mc Mahon, Aveen Donaldson, Caoimhin O’Neill, Charlene O’Callaghan, Faye Fitzpatrick, Lauren Mc Conville, Lorraine Dolan, Mairead Watters, Marie Luckie, Megan O’Callaghan, Michelle Cannon, Natasha Hamill, Orla Donaldson, Orlaith Murtagh, Riona Mc Conville, Roisin Mc Shane, Sarah Armstrong, Sarah Hanratty, Shauna O’Callaghan, Sinead Watters & Tara O’Callaghan.

This team started out in March under the management of Maria O’Donnell and Peter Mc Mahon with a vision of reinvigorating senior ladies football in the club and getting more girls involved.

Since then they are unbeaten in the League and are now preparing for a County Final against a formidable Sarsfields team.

Please come out and show the girls your support on Sunday 10th September @ 5pm in Mullabrack.
