Senior ACL

Cross V Armagh Harps

On Sunday afternoon we played Armagh Harps at home.
It was Armagh Harps who started the brightest with three points on the scoreboard in the opening minutes of the game.  Johnny Hanratty scored a superb goal in the third minute to leave us level pegging.
Some great points from Rían O’Neill in the second quarter left is trailing by just a point at half time.

Harps opened the scoring in the second half , points from kyle Carragher , Stephen Morris and Rían 0’Neill kept us in contention.
Harps scored a goal in the 54th minute but we responded well and in a nail biting finish, Stephen Kernan put the ball over the bar in the 60th minute to win the match. Full time score – Cross 1-16 v Harps 1-15 .
Our next match is against Maghery on Sunday 21st May @2pm in Maghery.

A great weekend for our Seconds, two good victories, against Clady on Friday night and Ballyhegan on Sunday afternoon.

Drugs And Alcohol Awareness Programme

As part of our ongoing drugs and alcohol awareness programme , we in partnership with The Magnet Centre and START 360 held a very informative evening on Wednesday.
It was primarily aimed at our U14 and U16 boys and girls.
The evening provided information about support, awareness and preventative measures regarding the misuse of alcohol and drugs.
Great to see such a large crowd and many thanks to the representatives of the Magnet Centre, START 360, Dr Finbar Markey and our own club personnel.
Well done to all the boys and girls and their Parents who attended.

Support For Crossmaglen & District First Responders

Last Friday a hugely successful event took place at Greenore Golf Club. In recognition of Mr Gene Duffy being appointed Captain of Greenore Golf Club , we were proud to be part of a golf classic fundraiser. Gene nominated Crossmaglen & District First Responders as his chosen charity.
Gene Duffy and Margurite Donaghy presented a cheque for €2000 to Aoibhean Byrne Brennan ( Cross & District first responders ), a fantastic amount for a very worthy cause.

The overall winner of the Golf Classic was Declan Smith.  Congratulations Declan.

A special presentation was made to Gene by Joe Kernan, Michael McEntegart and Peter Byrne.

Well done to everyone who organised the event and who took part and we all send good wishes to Gene in the year ahead.
