Armagh Harps V Cross

Match ball sponsored by Phil Duffy

Due to the Armagh game, our league encounter away to Armagh Harps had an early start. The opening minutes saw some fine scores from both sides, we led by 2, 5-3, with ten minutes gone. An accidental collision in which Thomas  Cassidy sustained an injury resulted in the game being stopped  for a short time. We wish Thomas a speedy recovery.  As play resumed, we went on a scoring spree, 3 points without reply and we were in a comfortable position as the game entered the second quarter. Two points in as many minutes for the home side reduced the deficit. Some super goalkeeping from our number 1 prevented the Harps reducing our lead even further. Cian converted a free as the minutes ticked down until half time but it was Armagh Harps who finished the half the strongest, three points one after the other and at the midway point, the bare minimum separated the sides;

Armagh Harps 0-8 Cross 0-9

Not long after the second half has started, Harps had a point registered to level matters. They added a further 4 points before we got our opening score of the half, a Tony Kernan point from a free. Harps added another point to the scoreboard putting 4 between the sides again, Cian slotted over a point also from a free and points from Dara and Paudie left just 1 separating the sides as the game entered the last quarter, we were in for an exciting finale. Harps scored a further two points to strengthen their lead with the final whistle just minutes away. A Tony Kernan point left 2 in it, we had a number of missed opportunities but the home side hung on to  secure the points.

Armagh Harps 0-16 Cross 0-14
