Crossmaglen Rangers Club Notes 07/10/19

Armagh SFC SF

Cross V Maghery
Heavy and persistent rain on Saturday left conditions extremely slippy and difficult for our our semi final clash against Maghery. A draw in the other semi final which resulted in extra time saw a late start for the game.
We got off to a blistering start, a super high ball from Mel Boyce into Oisin O’Neill who blasted the ball into the Maghery net to register the opening score of the semi final with the game less than a minute old. Points followed from Cian and Rían to give us a comfortable lead early on. With the rain pouring down, both sides had missed opportunities. Just past the midway point of the first half, Maghery scored their opening score, a point.
As the minutes ticked down to the break, Rían and Cian registered a point each, both the results of frees converted to leave the score at the break;
Cross 1-04 Maghery 0-01
We scored three points without reply in the opening minutes of the second half, Rían (F), Cian and Callum to extend our lead. Both sides traded points (Alan) and with ten to go we were in a commanding position. The opposition scored two points in as many minutes to reduce the deficit. Colin O’Connor slotted over a point before Maghery once again scored two points one after the other. With full time approaching, a superb pass from Rían to Oisin who hit a rasper of a shot which rattled the Maghery net, Oisin’s second goal of the night and the victory sealed. As the game entered injury time, Maghery scored a point to bring the scoring of the contest to a close.
Cross 2-09 Maghery 0-07

We are delighted to announce the show will be aired on Thursday 21st November at 5.05pm on TG4.
In the run up to the show I will be sharing promotional videos and blogs.
Thanks to everyone who took part, their Parents for their assistance and cooperation   and a special word of praise for our Irish Cultural  Officer, Johanne Donnelly who coordinated the whole adventure.
