Crossmaglen Rangers Club Notes 10/06/19

U14.5 Division 1 Championship Semi Final
Cross V Mullaghabwn
On Thursday night, U14.5 squad were in action for U14.5 Division 1 Championship Semi Final. The game had been scheduled to be played in Killeavy on Tuesday but torrential rain saw the game postponed and refixed for Thursday. A toss of the coin which we won saw us granted a home venue.
We settled quickly, Aron O’Neill scoring a point with the game only twenty seconds old. Aron’s point was quickly followed by six points without reply which built up a comfortable lead for us and we were only in the first quarter of the game. Mullaghawn converted a free to get them off the mark, seconds later the same happened the opposite end of the field, Ryan Martin converted a free which was the start of another scoring spree for the home side, scoring 3-2 in the next ten minutes, a super pass from Ryan Martin to Aron O’Neill who struck the ball into the oppositions net to give us our first goal of the night, Aron scored our second goal and Benny Duffy the third after we were awarded a penalty.
Mullaghbawn’s best spell of the half came in the closing minutes, scoring two goals and two points, Ryan Martin and Conor McConville both scored a point a piece to leave the score at the break;
Cross 3-12 Mullaghabwn 2-03

Mullaghbawn opened the scoring of the second with a point before we worked the ball well down the field to Ryan Martin who struck the ball superbly which resulted in our fourth goal of the night and extended our lead.
We registered a further 1-1, Shane Gallagher the goal scorer. As the game entered the last five minutes, both sides traded points before Mullaghbawn reduced the deficit by scoring 1-3 and fittingly the top scorer of the game, Ryan Martin slotted over a point to bring our scoring to a close.
Cross 5-15 Mullaghabwn 3-08
