Cross V Collegeland

Cross Seconds travelled to Collegeland on Friday night for the next round of the junior football league .
Conditions were ideal for football and it was us who were first on the scoresheet with Cormac Clarke scoring his first point in the opening minute.
A free seconds later saw Cormac score his second point .
We exchanged points with Collegeland and in the final minutes of the first half , Calumn Cumiskey and Jimmy Traynor scored a point each before Colin O’Connor put the ball in the back of the Collegeland net .
It was Collegeland who started the second half the brightest , they grew in confidence as the second half progressed and ran out deserving winners .
Collegeland : 3-16 Cross 1-12.

Pearse Ógs V Cross

Our seniors travelled to Armagh on Sunday for their next game in the Armagh senior league .
A very competitive free flowing first half saw some fine scores from both sides .
Ógs started the strongest but we settled quickly and points from Kyle Carragher and Mickey McNamee left us level.
A great ball from Stephen finnegan to the forwards resulted in a great finish by Rian O’Neill to fist the ball into the back of the Pearse Ógs net.
Ógs responded with a goal before we pushed on with points from Rían O’Neill and a superb goal from Seannie McConville .
A very unfair challenge on Tony Kernan just before the half time whistle resulted in the Ógs player receiving a black card .
Rián O’Neill opened the scoring in the second half.
We exchanged points before Ógs scored three points in quick succession . The third quarter of the game saw us dominate the match with points from Stephen Finnegan , Kyle Carragher , Stephen Morris , Rían O’Neill and Mickey McNamee all of which helped to seal the victory .

A marvellous day was had by all last Friday when our annual Golf Classic took place at Concra Wood Golf Course, Castleblayney .

Community Clean Up .
More details about the community clean – up in the Examiner in the 17th July edition.
Also updates online , Facebook and Twitter.
On Saturday 22nd July , headed by our senior teams along with club members from U14’s upwards , we will undertake a massive clean up day on all roads leading into Crossmaglen and the town itself .
Our aim is to bring the community together to make Crossmaglen a cleaner and better place and to highlight the importance of looking after our community and taking pride in our area . The event will be known as Crossmaglen Clean – Up.
