U19 Championship Final

Cross V Mullaghbawn

All roads led to the Athletic Grounds on Sunday afternoon for the Division 1, U19 Championship Final. Our opponents were Mullaghbawn. From the outset, we were in control of this game. Seconds after the ball was thrown in by Oisin McKee, Shane Gallagher had registered our opening score, a point. A point each from Ryan Martin and Ronan Fitzpatrick quickly followed. Mullaghbawn got their opening score, a point from the boot of Fergal O’Brien. The remainder of the half, it was all one way traffic  3-6 in total scored, some of the scores were textbook,  Ronan (0-2), Shane (0-1), Aaron (0-1), Bernard (1-1), Caolan (1-0), Jack (1-1), and the cross bar hit a couple of times to leave the score at the mid way point;

Cross 3-9 Mullaghbawn 0-1

The second half began as the first half had played out, Ronan had a goal registered in the opening minutes. The following minutes were evenly matched score by score, both sides added four points to their tally, Ronan (2), Jack and Ryan. Again we went on a scoring spree, a hat-rick of points for Aaron O’ Neill and a goal for Caolan Finnegan to stretch our lead.  Mullaghbawn’s scored the last score of the game just as normal time approached.
