Crossmaglen Rangers Club Notes 29/10/18

Armagh Ladies Division 2 Minor Championship Final

Cross V Granemore

The minor ladies took the field in Carrickcruppen to contest the Division 2 Championship Final. The game got off to a good start with Caomhinn O’Neill opening the scores for Cross with a well worked pointed. Cross fought the kick out at Shauna O’Callaghan, unfortunately the ball dropped short and into the keepers hands.Granemore carried the ball, and delivered it to their number 14, who was being marked by Faye Fitzpatrick. Faye worked hard to divert her first scoring attempt but it wasn’t long until she opened their score board.

Aoife McDermott’s strong kick out, consistently found a amber and black jersey, and this allowed us to produce from quality scores. Alexandra Clarke worked a point, then with the support of Shauna, followed it up with a goal. This was the start of a scoring spree from Cross, and when the half time whistle blew across led 3.07 to 0.03.

The second half commenced, Cross again dominating play, two quick points from Alex and Caoimhe. This set the pace for the second half, and across managed to find the net five more times, before Granemore managed to produce a score. Cross made good use of their subs, and just onto the pitch Kellie Shields scored a point.  The final whistle blew with a score of 7.15 to 1.04.

Well done girls and management on a super win.
