Dromintee V Cross

The home side got the scoring underway, with a point registered from play, when the game was just seconds old. Our opening score followed soon after, Jamie Clarke the scorer. All indications at this early stage, was that this was going be a fast moving and tough encounter. A super pass from number eleven, Callum Cumiskey, to Thomas Og Duffy who hit a rasper of a shot which ended up in the dromintee net to give us an early lead. We won the dromintee kick out, worked the ball well down the field to Seannie McConville who kicked the ball into the home-side net to extend our lead and register our second goal. Jamie scored his second point and with the game approaching the end of the first quarter, we had a steady lead. Dromintee scored two long range points one after the other to reduce our lead to four as we entered the second quarter. A super save from Conor Deery denied Dromintee a goal which would of saw our lead brought down to the bare minimum. We had a number of missed opportunities. The final quarter saw Dromintee score four points, (1F), we scored three, Seanie, Jamie (F) & Aaron to leave the score at the midway point;

Dromintee 0-7 Cross 2-5

Dromintee began the second half as they had the first, a score in the opening seconds, a free converted.  Their second score of the half, a point,  followed shortly after, now just two was the difference. Our opening score of the half came in the eleventh minute, a goal from the boot of Jamie Clarke to reinstate our comfortable lead. Two points apiece for each team, a fantastic strike from Dara O’Callaghan and Jamie (F) and the difference was still five as the minutes ticked down on the clock. We finished strongly, three answered points, Dara (2) & Jamie to put the game firmly out of Dromintees reach. Just as normal time was up, Dromintee scored a point from a free and the last score of the match, in injury time, Dromintee slotted over a point from play.

Dromintee  0-13  Cross 3-10

Thanks to match ball sponsor, David, Food At Events.

Well done lads and management.
