Crossmaglen Rangers Club Notes 26/09/22
Armagh SFC QF
Cross V Dromintee
All roads led to the Athletic Grounds on Sunday evening. A minute’s silence in memory of the late Pete McEntee was observed before the game. A six o’clock throw in meant the majority of the match was played under lights. Tony O’Hare was the man in charge of proceedings. A low scoring first half, just two scores from each team., 0-2 for Cross, 1-1 for the opposition, their goal coming from play in the eighteenth minute. At half time, we trailed just by two even though we played most of the half with fourteen players after we were reduced to fourteen men early on in the game.
Cross 0-2 Dromintee 1-1
Tow points from Rian (1,F) levelled maters in the opening minutes of the seconds half. Dromintee edged in front as the game entered the last quarter. We then scored three points without reply, Cian, Rian (F) and Jamie and with the clock ticking down, we led by two. As the game entered injury time, Dromintee converted two frees one after the other to leave it all square at full time.
Cross 0-7 Dromintee 1-4
We were back to fifteen players for the period of extra time. We were quick off the mark as extra time commenced, a super score from Ronan in the opening minute sparked a scoring spree, five points without reply, Jamie, Rian (‘45), Chris, Fitzy and Stephen (F). Just before the ref blew the whistle for half time, Ryan Hughes registered a point for Dromintee;
Cross 0-14 Dromintee 1-5
The second half we dominated and our lead was never threatened, a point for Cian and a fantastic goal from the boot of Daniel Cumiskey were added to our tally to leave the score at full time of extra time;
Cross 1-15 Dromintee 1-5
