Crossmaglen Rangers Club Notes 30/04/18
Cycle against Suicide
On Sunday afternoon we welcomed one hundred and fifty cyclists who were participating in the cycle. The cyclists were on route to Newry when they made a brief stop at the Rangers Hall. It was lovely who see all the young Rangers who provided a guard of honour for the cyclists from Luke Murphy’s corner to the Hall. Many thanks to Gerard and the staff of the Cross Square Hotel for all your help, to Gene and Larry for their assistance and to all the boys, girls, mentors and coaches who provided a guard of honour. Thank you also to the personnel from the Fire Service, Pat Caraher and Gerard Murray who escorted the cyclists to the hall.
Congratulations to all the cyclists and organisers of this fantastic event which helps to bring awareness of the health and support which is available to anyone who may be suffering from mental health issues such as depression, self harm, risk of suicide or have been bereaved by suicide.
We wish all those involved in the cycle well and safe travels in the days ahead, the cycle will finish on Monday 7th May.
Finally I wish to thank Dave Popham, Route Manager CAS for picking the Rangers Hall as a stop on their route North.
Intermediate League Division 2B
On Sunday afternoon, we travelled to Middletown for our league fixture. With Aaron Moysten outstanding and an overall great team performance we secured the points in what was a well deserved victory. Well done lads and management.

The Kelly and Aherne families wish to express their sincere thanks to all who attended the church to recite the rosary and pray for Kathleen over the past three days. Thanks also to Fr Dermot, Fr Kevin and to Peter Mallon.

We are delighted, honoured and proud that Uachtarán Cumann Lúthchleas Gael John Horan will come to St Oliver Plunkett Park on 27th May.
He will plant a new tree at our garden to acknowledge the youth of our club , he will then cut the ribbon to start our 500,000 steps challenge.
There will be games and stalls , BBQ , face-painting , fun for all the family to celebrate Lá Raonaithe Óga who are at the heart of our club.
This is the perfect opportunity for us all to celebrate the achievements of all our young Rangers, their mentors and coaches.
The 500,000 steps challenge is a sponsored event and we ask all Club members to come along on 27th May, support this important event and above all join in the fun of this marvellous occasion.
