Armagh SFL

Armagh Harps V Cross

Saturday evening, we travelled to Armagh for our Senior Football league game. Persistent rain all day left conditions slippy. It was the home side who settled quickly, three points in the opening quarter to give them an early lead. The start of the second quarter saw us replicate this, three points without reply and with twenty gone on the clock, the game was all square. A point a piece from both sides from play was registered before Harps scored a point and a goal within a minute to put them in front once more and with the half time whistle only minutes away. Dara O’Callaghan converted a free to leave the score at the midway point;

Harps 1-05 Cross 0-5

Two points at the start of the second half brought it back to a one point game for a brief period of time. Harps stretched it to two from a free, Ronan Fitzpatrick did likewise and one was the difference yet again. A point from play from Harps give them a cushion. We had a number of missed opportunities but points from Aaron Kernan and Caolan Finnegan in the dying minutes levelled matters and this was how the game finished, all square!

Armagh Harps 1-7 Cross 0-10

Thanks to Cross Castles who sponsored the ball.

Armagh IFL

Culloville V Cross

Our seconds travelled to neighbours, Culloville, on Sunday morning for their Intermediate League fixture. The first half was totally dominated by the opposition and by half time, they had built up a considerable lead.

Culloville 0-9 Cross 0-1

Our best spell of the match came in the opening minutes of the second half, four points one after another, all from the boot of Ronan Finnegan, reduced the deficit but Culloville steadied the ship, two points from frees converted and they were in a strong position with the finishing line in sight. A point a piece from Caolan Dooley and Shane McConville brought the scoring of the day to a close and it was Culloville who secured the points.

Culloville 0-11 Cross 0-7
