Hanratty Oils
We are delighted, honoured and proud to announce that our new main sponsor is Hanratty Oils. We send our sincere gratitude to Gene and the Hanratty family for their generous sponsorship and ongoing support for Crossmaglen Rangers.
Official Launch Of The New Crossmaglen Rangers Jersey
The official launch of the new  jersey, along with our entire club merchandise range will take place in the Rangers Hall on Saturday 23rd March at 2pm following the community clean up.
The new jersey will be launched by Club Chairman, Eugene Hanratty and our main sponsor, Eugene Hanratty, Hanratty Oils. Raymond Tumilty, O’Neill’s Sportswear and  sponsor Raymond Watters, The Old Coach Inn, Castleblayney will also be in attendance.
“As part of our overall vision for the future we believe the Crossmaglen Rangers jersey to be an integral part of town’s proud football history and tradition which inherently reflects who we are as people and what we stand for. The traditional amber and black stripes was essential to recognising the Rangers spirit and determination” said Chairman, Eugene. He added “Crossmaglen Rangers is central to the  lifeblood of our community. We hope that past players will recognise the new  jersey as a symbol of respect, that  current players will wear it as a symbol of pride and identity and that future players will aspire to wear it.
Naoise & Mary Short, Short’s Sports & Cycles will also be in the Rangers Hall on the 23rd and they will be taking orders for the full range of Crossmaglen Rangers gear including the official jersey, shorts, socks, half zips, skinny pants and much more.
Everyone welcome to this very exciting event, young and old!

Malachy Murdoch Tournament

On Friday night our seniors had their first outing of the year when they played Bryansford in the Malachy Murdoch Tournament. It was a very special occasion as the boys sported their new style jersey.
Before the ball was thrown in, a minute’s  silence was observed for the late Francie McKeown. Heavy rain left conditions extremely slippy.
We were first to register a score, Cían McConville slotted over a point when the game was only seconds old. Seconds later Bryansford levelled matters. Both sides exchanged points, Stephen Morris our point scorer. The Co Down men scored two more points (1,F) and at the midway point of the first half, they had a narrow lead. Stephen Morris scored his second point (f) to leave the bare minimum between the sides. With just a little over ten to go till the break, Stephen Morris passed the ball to David McKenna who struck the ball superbly into the back of the oppositions net to put us in front. Points from Cían McConville and Mel Boyce brought the scoring of the first half to  a close;
Cross 1-05 Bryansford 0-04
The second half was just minutes old, we had two more points registered on the  scoreboard to give us a comfortable lead but Bryansford responded, scoring four unanswered points and as the game entered the last quarter, we led by two. Three points from both teams meant it remained a two point game and we were in for an exciting finish. Bryansford scored another point in the dying minutes to leave one in it  but we hung on to run our winners on a score line of;
Cross 1-10 Bryansford 0-12
Well done lads and management.
The boys will now play hosts, Burren on Friday 15th March at 7.45pm.
